Fast net the new speedy way to play netball!

TO ALL PLAYERS IN WINTER LEAGUE WHO PLAYED AT THE SPORTS CENTRE ON SATURDAY 10TH MARCH

DID ANYONE PICK UP A LIGHT BLUE SWEATSHIRT WITH APPLEMORE COLLEGE ACROSS THE BACK AT THE SPORTS CENTRE AS IT HAS SOME WEDDING RINGS IN THE POCKET AND THE OWNER IS DESPERATE TO FIND THEM.

This Easter, International Netball returns to England. This is the first chance to catch the national squad in action since their amazing win at the World Netball Series in November. Barbados are the opponents in a three match series that will head to the LG Arena in Birmingham, the Sports Training Village at the University of Bath and Surrey Sports Park.

England are currently ranked third in the world and will be favourites to secure more success over their Caribbean counterparts who reside in ninth position in the rankings. This will also be the first time that Head Coach Anna Mayes will lead her side in a home international as preparation for the Commonwealth Games in 2014 and World Championships in 2015 begins in earnest.

The Bajan squad will undoubtedly bring some Caribbean flair to the Series, in what promises to be a trio of matches full of colour, style and passion. It is great opportunity to watch your heroes in action and feel the full of excitement of witnessing international netball live!

Tuesday April 10th: England v Barbados, LG Arena Birmingham, 7:30pm
Thursday April 12th: England v Barbados, Sport Training Village, University of Bath, 7:30pm
Saturday April 14th: England v Barbados, Surrey Sports Park, 3pm – SOLD OUT

Tickets for each match are priced at the following:
Adult: = £20
Adult EN Member: = £17
Junior: = £14
Junior EN Member: £12
Family of 4 (2 Adults, 2 Juniors): = £54

Tickets will be in high demand for this series so be sure to book early.

To ensure that we communicate with all of our players effectively, and knowing how popular social networking sites are, we have created a group page on facebook. If you are a current player of Applemore and have a facebook profile please search for Applemore Netball Club and request to join. This group will keep you up to date of news, developments and opportunities within the club and another place for you all to encourage the rest of your Applemore family!

This is just a quick reminder that the second installment of your fees was due at the start of February. Anyone who has not yet paid their second installment can you please pay ASAP. Captains can you please check everyone in your squad has paid. If any players are having problems paying fees please speak to Emily or Kim.

Jo Pearce has roped in her Mum, Morag, and sister Laura to complete the Gold Challenge to raise money for Aspire www.aspire.org.uk a charity who helps those who suffer spinal injuries, as a continuation from the fundraising Jo completed in 2011.

The challenge involves completing 2012km before the Olympics begin on 27th July with only 8 different sports to do it in such as walking, running, rowing, swimming etc… Unfortunately netball isn’t included….darn it! Any sponsorship to keep us motivated when the tired legs hit would be very much appreciated. Happy New Year to you all, we hope you enjoyed your Christmas break and are raring to go for rest of the season. Training starts Wednesday 4th January with the lower section training 6.30 – 8pm and the upper section 8 – 9.30pm.
