Please vote for Back to Netball!

England Netball is thrilled to announce that following the semi-final public
vote, our Back to Netball initiative has made it to the final three for a
National Lottery Award in the Best Sports Project category. Over 500 schemes
were nominated, ten projects shortlisted and thanks to your votes, WE ARE IN
THE TOP 3!!

The Awards are an annual search to find the UK’s favourite Lottery-funded
projects, and they recognise and celebrate the difference that
Lottery-funded projects make to communities across the UK. Back to Netball
has been a fantastic success and we have welcomed over 22,000 women back
into our wonderful game since it’s national implementation in 2010. Since
the start of the Active Women project, 4,752 women from deprived areas
and/or caring for children U16 have come Back to Netball. There are
countless case studies that highlight the impact that Back to Netball has
had on the lives of local women including overcoming adversity, weight loss,
reuniting communities after the riots and mentoring young people through
qualifications that has led to longer term employment. To see some of our
wonderful Back to Netballers from Bristol in action, check out the video at
the following link:
http://www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/project/back-netball.

All voting totals from the semi-final round have been reset to zero and we
now have to go back out to a public vote. Voting for the finals starts from
9am on Tuesday 11th September (today!) and ends at midnight on 28th October.
To register your vote for Back to Netball, head to the link above. It takes
about three seconds – as long as you have to pass a netball! When you vote,
there is the option to share on facebook and twitter. Again, please do so,
the more we spread the word, the better. Please forward this email on to any
other Netball contacts!
